How do YOU know when you're "in love?" I am looking for people to try to put into words what it means to them and how they feel or what it feels like.

For me being in love is like having a best friend, husband, companion, lover all rolled into one. There is no jealousy and I can talk to my husband about anything. Every once in a while he will say something or smile a certain way and I get that "butterfly" feeling in my stomach.
I knew I was in love when I couldn't stop thinking about him and I could see myself being married to him. We are very compatible and love to do things together. When we talk on the phone, we can talk about nothing and everything. Sometimes we just sit on the couch and not say a word, but it is very comfortable.
I knew it was love when I was able to be MYSELF around him without fear of rejection or criticism. He and I adore each other and would do most anything for the other. We are friends before anything else.

Thats a good question. I never knew what it was until recently. Dont get me wrong, I have dated many times and thought I was in love. even spoke the words. But until my now - I had no clue. Love is looking in the eyes of that person and feeling totally at ease and totally helpless at the same time. I have complete trust and no jealously. I dont worry about a single thing with Michael. I just "know". Honestly I didnt even think it existed like this, but it does. And
I am glad that I never gave up or settled until I found it... or it found me. You shouldn't have to ask, when you are in it for real... you will know.

Being in love for me is a whole new experince. I've had boyfriends before whom i've never been "in love" with. But recently, this guy stole my heart. It felt like everytime I saw him I'd get these 'butterflies in my stomach'. Whenever we called I would get giddy and my mood would change. I would always be happy and content with my life even when school and work were pressuring me so much. It feels like I know I'll always have someone to back me up no matter what. It's truely hard to put words to how I feel.

You just know when you are in love . Your heart tells you so. Love makes me feel happy and complete and i know when it is right and when it is not. Love is just more then infatuation or lust. Love endures hard and trying times and is unselfish and kind. Real love is unconditional. When you love someone you do not try to change them you work on changing yourself to be what you need to be and for them in the relationship and or marriage. Love is giving and not taking. This is just the beginning of what real love should be.

A warm soft blanket that you can trust that it will keep you safe and strong to hold you up when the wight of the world is coming down around you. That what love is to me.

LOVE is when you are very jealous of your parthners past, that it actually hurts and termouls your mind everyday of your life. If this happens, and it hurts your heart everytime you remind yourself that your parthner had sex with someone else before you and it makes you want to destroy your brain and leave her and your family(son) because you just cant take it anymore, then I call that being brutally in love.
