Hmmmmm, I would think there would be a lot of influencing factors, such as which part of the world it's being performed in. I know that Shakespeares plays still eek out emotions from me when I'm watching them, but I'm much less likely to throw a tomato or stand up out of my seat than audience members from the past.

There is always a catharsis that exists with that play. It may not be the same now due to cultural changes but it still carries and impact and the themes still apply to modern life.

I would say so, yes. And it doesn't really have so much to do with the subject matter as it does with the idea that, in running from our "destiny," we somehow manage to find it.
