The team is stable
India have everything and more
The team of 2007 is also steady.
Factors helping India -
The best indian team going for the World Cup after the 1983 Presidential Cup. India has found good openers in Ganguly and Uthappa, with Sehwag in there too. Yuvraj, Dravid, Dhoni and Tendulkar steady the middle order to form one of the best middle order batting. Lower middle order of Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer can hit a few runs too.
As on bowling - Zaheer and Sreesanth/Munaf Patel will be opening and are not as bad. Kumble, Harbhajan and Sachin - Sehwag can bowl many spin overs between them. That leaves one guy extra. He can be employed as a strike bowler - Irfan/Sreesanth or Dinesh Kaarthick as the 11th guy. Irfan can bat as well.
It is a very powerful batting line-up, and make take a beating on their bowling lineup.
Quality Fielders are in plenty - Yuvraj, Uthappa, Sachin, Kaarthick. Fielders like Munaf Patel will have to be hided on the field.
There are all winning chances for India. India will reach the semi-finals for sure.
India have enjoyed a great run in previous world cups as well.
In 1979 we were almost through to semis. In 1983 we won the cup. In 1987 we were in the semis. In 1996 we were in semis (because of indian crowd, match given to Sri Lankans). In 1999 we beat Pakistan (who earlier beat Australia). Then in 2003 we reached the finals.
Somethings which India need to work on to improve for the World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean -
Every Indian Player Has To Think About The Country Not Individual.
Play As A Team
Making of Master Game plan before every match
Play Mind games With Every Team
Good Net Practice Before Every Match
Relaxation Techniques
Good Fielding
Players Should Be Absolutely Fit Before Every Match

Yes : Exactlly
This Two Are The Best Fit In The Opening Slots.
Ganguly Is Slow Scorer In 20 Over Power Play
And Player Like Uthappa And Sehwag Are The Best Choices In This Slot
Talking About Sachin He Is The Batting Meistro
So He Will Deliver Best At Top Order
You Are Absoluttly Right

My dear friend ! Should we bring uncertainty to our game by playing those two egoists as openors ? ! ?.. Sewag made it clear in the past (verbaly also) that he'll play his style whatever be the team's position. And how many times we saw Sachin getting out playing some stupid shot (like sewag) when the team needed him most ?- and after scores like Delhi pin code he plays an EXCELLENT innings and proclaim that nobody needs to teach him how to bat !!!! Yes, sachin is superb also sewag and thats most disappointing.. Ganguly is more a team man and whenever he scored more than 40 or 50 the team had its benefit. Even Dravid is a good player and seldom let India down.. Sachin is a good player if he's not selfish.. and sewag is no more a sportsman, he lost his shape and form, more he looks like a parotta maker in a village restaurant !! :-)

No, i dont think so, neither Greg chappell.
As Tendulkar coming at no.4 in the world cup, boosts the strength and reliabilty to the middle order, which is much needed in WI, where there are slow wickets and neither sachin is that much aggressive any more which he used to be.
Whereas Uthappa, the new indian sensation should do that job with ganguly may be sehwag, but i dont think sachin should be there anymore.

I think you are right
Dada Can Deliver His Performence In Lower Oreder Also :
But WE have to think about abilities Of Sachin and Sehwag
This Two Players Are the Top Performing Players In the Opening Slots
Sehwag can Blast away any bowler and sachin is the man whose attendence on ground can threat any team in the world.
sachin has deliverd Blasterd innings in opening slots
Now We have to think about Powerplays : Where Ganguly Is Slow Compare To sehwag and sachin so : we can utilize this overs by sending this two guys instead od sending ganguly.
ganguly can come on 4th position
3rd No should be given to dhoni...........
:))

First of all
1. to put the bowlers in a pressure a right hander and left hander might play.
2. Since sachin and ganguly are not as fast scorers as they used to be i think shewag and ganguly should play as openers.
3.Atlast ganguly should aim rotate strike with shewag as shewag is more powerful striker than ganguly

No. Since Gasngly has proved good in the opening slot and as Sachin experience and talent is required in the middle order, he should be made to bat in the middle only in order to take care of the consolidation process.

No. They have failed in this position recently and also Ganguly and Uthappa have better chances of succeeding as openers
