I know you said you heard it wasn't good to go into Biochem, but Chemistry is a great major for Pre-Med. According to research done by Randolph-Macon college, Chemistry has some of the highest rates of acceptance into medical school. (The humanities have some of the lowest acceptance rates.) Most universities require classes such as Biochemistry for Pre-Med majors anyways, so if you choose to major in Chemistry, you will already be taking many of your required classes. If you hated Chemistry in high school, this option might not be for you... but it is a suggestion. Good luck with your search!

So many to choose from really...a girl I work with will be starting med school in the fall and she got her bachelors in psychology. You could do zoology, biology, the above that you mentioned (um..if you are worried about how hard it will be to get good marks majoring in that, how do you expect to do in medical school???)...I know people have gotten degrees totally unrelated to medicine, but yet go on to med school (there are just certain requirements that have to be filled).

Biology; Anatomy are excellent.
Even Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and Phys Ed. can be decent pre-med majors--especially if you want to become a Doctor level expert in these fields.

You should call the Medical schools that you like and see what they tell you.

My college has Pre-med as a major, but you can also consider biology, or Biochem or such.
