I'm with you. A lot of goes beyond making a political point or even good natured kidding. It's petty and mean spirited.

Yes....the trolling is pretty awful at times. Less actual questions, and more like slanted propaganda....and at WHAT? The Y! Answers community, which isn't saying much. (Present company excepted, natch)

Every so often a genuine exchange happens where people disagree, but arguments are made with respect, tact, and substance. It happens with the arrival of certain comets and alignment of stars, so don't hold your breath.

I agree; what many people on here do not realize is that it is possible to give an opposing answer to a question without lowering yourself to the level of name calling and gross generalizations. The spirit of political debate is to get your thoughts and beliefs across through intelligent well thought out opinions, not by rudeness and slander.

YES!

I just try to answer the questions honestly, with a minimum of spin. I get my moods, but usually I really try to add something substantive.

Some good people seem to give in to the childishness and descend into the mud with their enemies. It's sad. But we're all only human.

Well, yes. I would welcome some debate without the name calling, the preachy statements framed as questions (really clumsy)

If logical debate is what you are looking for, it's somewhat missing here.

But many people are trying to bring the level of debate up a notch, and I'm sure they'lcontinue to do so

It's not really so much "bickering" when a "Blame-America-First" leftist gets a hearty slap-down they so richly deserve for spewing lies and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Now, healthy debate with someone whom just disagrees, - I'm all for that.

Mostly if it's just morons who call something liberal because they don't like it or understand it and add no logic to a discussion.
