How can librarians increase temwork in public libraries?

i.e. how can they increase the way in which they work as a team?

Participate in activities OUTSIDE of the library to enable employees to bond over some shared experience. Dysfunctional library staffs are all too common in this profession. A strong cohesive team is something that takes effort. I would consider a monthly outing with the staff. We are all born with different personalities, coping mechanisms, and survival skills. Unfortunately we're not all lucky enough to be Stepford Wives / Husbands... We must learn to respect one another for our unique differences, thus yielding the unique gifts that we each bring to the table. Think outside the box! Library School is about technique and practice, but they sure need to add a class on human relations to the curriculum! or at least a psychology class!
