Well because its what makes them happy...It doesnt matter what sexual orientation you are love is love and wether you are a man loving a man or a man loving a women you are going to have hastle. I think gay relationships are becoming more exceptable today. Either way exceptable or not You honestly cant help who you love so I think its worth the Fight!
You should always stay real about who and what you are no matter what people think..people will judge you no matter what you do!
Peace :)

It's not like we want to be hassled, people are abused from people in other forms such as racism, people being just naturally mean, unfortunately being bullied is a part of life and something us gay people tend to be affected by from bigoted people who think that being gay changes who a person is. Being gay is not a choice, it's the way we were born. If it 'were' a choice there would be no such thing as differences between people, no difference in sexuality, race, intelligence - if we were all the same what could you bully someone about? Maybe it would make the world a better place? Who knows. But the differences in us are however what make us who we are and make the human race special and diverse.

Your belief that people choose to be gay is just as wrong as you wanting to cause them a load of hassles in life.

Do you think that we choose to be gay. I'm sure you do because that is what most people think. Well it is not a choice. Nobody can control thier emotion/feelings. You can hide them but you can't control them. When you hide your feelings, you are not happy and someday liable to blow up. I am the happiest I have ever been. I have a wonderful girlfriend. when I came out, it was really hard because nobody accepted it. Everybody was in denial. It was a hard thing to deal with. It even came to the point where I tried to date guys to please my family. I thought I could control my emotions and feelings. People had me believeing that i was screwed up in the head and that i should just be with a man and forget that is had ever happened. Well, needless to say, I was absolutely miserable. When I found the woman of my dreams, I couldn't take it hide it any more. She is what I wanted and needed. That is when I blew up, I told everybody once again, "I AM a lesbian and I am in love with a woman". I went through the same stuff all over again. This time, I didn't care, I couldn't care. I was in love and happy. Over time, everyone in my life started to acccept it becuase they seen how happy I was. That was another very happy moment in my life. Is it still hard? Yes. Very. Society doesn't accept it.
But to answer your question,
Do you really think that we would CHOOSE the life to be unaccepted, judged, and threatened on a daily basis? Do you think that we choose a partner that we couldn't legally marry or have a family with? I don't think so.
I love my girlfriend with all my heart and I will spend the rest of my life with her no matter what. But I want to get married, I want to get pregnant, and I want to have a family . I want all those things so if it were a choice, I think I would have CHOSEN someone that i COULD have that with. don't you think?
Even though I didn't choose this lifestyle, I now know that I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have the best partner that anyone could ever ask for and come hell or high water, we will get married and have a family together!

"Being gay" isn't a choice gay people make - even your question implies that - who would make that choice?
What you should have asked is, "Why do gay people act on their sexuality if they know it's going to cause them a load of hassle?"
The answer to that is the need to be who you are. Some gay people stay closeted most or even all their lives, never being able to simply be themselves and enjoy life.
What would you do if something that was inherent to your being was generally disapproved of by your loved ones or society? Would you take the gamble, or live a lie and never know fulfillment?

Being Gay is not a choice. I am a lesbian. It had created havoc in my life at some point. But as I grew older, I now have the right to advocate for our community and choose those of you that want to continue hating and being prejudice who I want to have around me and my child and partner. Do African Americans or Asians or any other class have a choice?

It's not about the hassle it's about being you and you can't control if your gay or not so you either accept it and embrass it or you hise away in a closet and end up killing people.
