if you enjoy working with people, if you're always the first one to extend a helping hand, if you are, by now, all dried up in that power-suit of yours, if you've been yearning to keep on learning about life and health for the sake of your loved ones, if you are finally wondering what you are here for, didn't NURSING ever come across in your mind as a career, when you were much younger?... before you joined the bandwagon and get sucked all up in the chase of your own tail?
just curious to know what your thoughts were before you left school....

I worked in a nursing home for many years as a nurse's aide. I did think of going to school to be an RN but I saw that the nurses basically did a lot of pill pushing and paperwork. Not enough one on one care. I went to school to be a dental hygienist. Same type of classes, better pay, no Sundays, midnights or holidays, no manditory overtime, and I can work one on one with a patient and work from the neck on up. I LOVE Dentistry so I am glad I chose this profession. I wouldn't mind being a nurse, and I could do it, but I like to spend time with my patients, not just 5 minutes here or 2 minutes there.
