media mostly show bad things that happen in the world because only the bad thing get the attention of the people. If the media tells the news of someone did some charity, no one will pay attention to it. Instead if they give some news about some person who committed a series of murders, the people will be interested.

It sells, morbid, afraid, make an example, don't know is the summary of your first few answers. But why does it sell? Why or what are people afraid of? Who runs the conspiracy to set an example to the public? Why don't we know? Why do we need others to tell us?
---
Why do we not know most everything but find it necessary to ask each other questions? We all have levels of knowledge; but why are we all, even the most intelligent, asking ourselves and each other all these questions? What are the odds that anyone has an answer? We get answers now and then but where did they come from?
Where do answers really come from? Scientists can show you a method for finding answers and show you how to prove an answer. Still they cannot prove the very existance of any idea or explain why they come with and without proof, are not mostly temporary even when proven. They canot demonstrate by any measurement the source or existance of any idea as having any physical substance.

Men live in a kingdom of evil, fear, pain and clouded darkness; where everything is, in one way or another, a response to death?
Your answer is in several answers. The media report 'bad' things because people fear death. Death and its fear are not immediate for most, so death and its fear are enhanced and made immediate by pain. Pain is deaths refresh button if you will.
So bad things find your morbid pain and assuage it to someone else or prompt you to give money for god or global warming, a karate class, a beauty shop, a dog pound, Everybody has a piece of the answer and sex is included. There is a comment about orgasm in French which translates to "The little death." More births in war time and famine as sex is often a stress respsonse to death. A summary answer:
---------------------------- PAIN SELLS -------------------------
---------- in the kingdom of death ----

The media knows that it isn't news that sells. They know that big names (celebrity), Sex, Violence and Fear sells. The media are not in the business of "news". They are in the business of selling "fear".
And so, naturally, they call themselves "news media" and have convinced most Americans that they are honorable and rightous seekers of the truth and are the only people that can inform the public about events THEY call "news".
But look at the content of the vast majority of media. It is all about the above topics, fear, fear, fear, fear.
And, the public attention is focused on their agenda much like one cannot take their eyes from a train wreck in progress. It offends the senses and makes us feel that "we are there".
Do your own survey. You will find that "good news" is in scarce supply throughout the entire world and that "everything" is dangerous, evil or threatening.
Don't let the existance of the little "op eds" about the kitty saved from the mean ole tree fool you into thinking the reporting is balanced...count it up. You'll see.

without the web or media, our global could nonetheless be because it became contained in the 18th century, with households residing jointly searching after one yet another, and crime being dedicated in reality not often. It became the media that gave us the flexibility emigrate all around the country for artwork or exhilaration; and it became the web that enable like-minded persons, alongside with gangs, connect with one yet another. You Tube and violent video games and television do have an result on human beings. An party is even as Rob Lowe became a young person. teen suicides were on the upswing, and each and each community determined to make a 'movie of the week' about the concern to exhibit kids that suicide wasn't needed. Lowe starred contained in the perfect of the three. It became stumbled on after each and each that for the subsequent 2-3 days, teen suicide went UP. The networks stop making those video clips. yet in a later time and with different topics, they did not save in ideas the lesson--or did not care. Violence and undesirable habit is enormous funds even as presented in a fashion that the objective target market likes.

The same reason that you will watch a car wreck rather than look at a bunch of cute puppies. People watch bad things happen, they don't care so much about the good things. Why do politicians fling mud during campaigns? Because it works. It's just an innate human desire to see bad things.
Lots of humans watching=good ratings=$$$$$

They are banking on our society's morbid curiosity. You know how people slow down to gawk at wrecks on the interstate? Well, they know these same people will watch the news if there are bad things for them to see. Advertisers want to be sure that people are going to actually watch the show they are advertising during before they invest money, and the news channels can almost guarantee an audience.

Media is driven by competition these days.........no longer are these barons bothered with the effects of their news on public.........bad things have always happened but were relegated to small columns previously but now it seems there is a competiton to grab eyeballs to sell their papers/channels......As good seldomly shocks people and is hardly considered sensational and the bad and ugly is noticed by humans even if only to read and tch tch..........economics is at work here not morals..........

Ever heard the phrase, "If it bleeds, it leads"? That's what makes "news." However, the media does seem to have gotten side-tracked and lost some, if not a lot, credibility by really exposing some of their biased opinions.

They tried showing other stuff and ratings dropped. Media services are in it to make money. Money comes from ads. Ads draw top dollar based on viewership. Viewership = ratings. Got it? Why do you continue to tune in?
