Interesting. Cross culture exchange has been going on in USA forever. For example: "Stay, with whom are you staying?" was used in 1800s by English upper class. It is found in novels? of that era. How it got into usage in AA and then to larger culture is unknown. People of all races and culture need to read Langston Hughes, and other enduring African-American writers.
When I was a teenager, there was little emulation between groups, except for music. African-Americans where very diverse in education, goals, manner as where all cultures. This still hasn't changed. Those 'white kids' are giving a grand tribute to another culture. Leave it at that.

I agree. But that's EXACTLY who the Gap ads were targeting this past Christmas...that whole "Peace, Love, the Gap!" campaign was aimed at white people who want to act black.

i guess they think it some sort of flattery that a white kid acting the way a black kid does, i wonder what do white folks think of white kid acting like a black kid...for sure eminem is an exemption because he became very rich doing so! which is not bad, not bad at all!!!

Please tell me what exactly acting black is. If you mean acting like people they see in rap videos its kind of funny.
But I would like to point out that is one image of African Americans. We are not allthe same and our community has ust as much variety as anyone.

because its what make them happy and some blacks want to be white to they bleach there skin so it goes both ways
