Doesn't the Bible seem to indicate that they are?

There is no evidence in the Bible for the present whereabouts of the lost tribes, that's why they are lost. You'd expect to find them in Iraq or Iran, if anywhere.

The Mormons believe that Native Americans were the lost tribes.

No, I do not think so. What we know is that the tribes went east towards India, Tibet China and Japan.
