The shops are full of smock style tops and dresses and leggings... Genius timing, no?

Look all you overly serious people - I am not saying that this is hugely important to me just that a lot of the shapes of stuff widely available in the shops are suited to the shape of pregnant women. OBVIOUSLY - comfort etc is more important than fashion - lighten up though eh?

I Know exactly what you mean. I'm 13 weeks at the mo and have been looking for maternity sections in shops and can't tell the difference between maternity and 'normal people' clothing.
It's great news!!
Forget these people who are complaining about you enjoying fashion. Just because we're pregnant it doesn't mean we have to turn to bed sheets!!

I know! And like you say, the good part is that not all the clothes we buy needs to be specialist maternity (€€€), as long as you can get nice large smock tops etc...
I do have some really nice maternity gear too though, and it's great, the style of fashion at the mo fits in so well with maternity wear, I've got some lovely tops, trousers, etc... I'm 30 weeks now, and I'm going to be sad to go back to normal clothes!
;-)
By the way dreamer - you're right! I had my son in March 2002 and this ones due in April - lol! Spring babies! I'm one too!

When I was pregnant with my daughter it was summer time when I was 7-8-9 months and they really didnt have any cute clothes, but they always do for winter and spring and I just found out I am pregnant again and this one is due in October so I guess I will be wearing the summer clothes again.

Its great espicially with shops like primark doing cheap tops- saves a fortune on maternity clothes. I love it even though I feel like a beached whale I can look trendy!

Yeah I totally agree with you - there are a lot of baggy tops and cute dresses.
I am planning to get some of those belly belts which you can adjust to any of your trousers and shorts and get lots of those baggy tops. Hopefully I will get away with buying those pregnancy clothes, that's let admit are not great

Nice question..If I could just get pregnant with a sticky baby, meaning carry one for longer than nine weeks, then I would happily wear a potato sack just as long as I had a healthy baby..

Please can you tell me where to buy decent preggie clothes to wear to work - all the maternity clothing I seem to have found are black pants with elasticised waists - i'm tired of wearing two pairs of pants to work each week - and are there special maternity leggings? Would appreciate any help advice.

They still don't seem to cater too much for the larger person who needs maternity clothes though.
