the election process of selecting some national and local officials especially the president and vice president is too long and and seems too complicated and cost so much money. is there some ideas that we can simplify it and make it effective. i think this long process also makes some candidates spend too much money to the point of them being open to some big corporations and individuals influences.

A big part of the problem is we as a whole are difficult to make meaningful contact with. Getting your message in front of over 200 million people is a big challenge, even w the sophisticated tools available today.

Sadly even w the dozen or so candidates now in the race , when the real election rolls around many will bemoan the fact they don't like the two choices presented, & will have never been involved during the primaries.

Personally I love politics in general, & election campaigns in particular. While it does take some time away from regular "duties"....do you really think they would be working if not campaigning??

At least while on the campaign trail they are somewhat accessible & more accountable for past actions (or inactions)

Despite enjoying the race, I often choose to tune out for a spell & suggest this to any one seeking to retain their sanity!!

Unfortunately it would take an act of Congress to regulate common sense legislation regarding elections and they are not going to do anything that impacts on their own will.

All elections should be public funded and the amount limited w/o receiving large corporation or union monies. Contributions are supposed to be limited but for any candidate wealthy enough or influential enough can opt out giving them the edge. Just another loophole for them to control who they want elected.

This is way too long, time taken away from the work that the incumbents were elected to do, depriving us of a record of ther voting record.

And I can't understand how any serious minded person can decide at this point who they are going to vote for.
