I'm sick of all the racial controversy. We bend over backwards to make sure everyone else is comfortable and to make sure they don't feel singled out. What about white people...we don't have BET, Miss Black beauty pageants, or ONLY black colleges. If we were to attempt to incorporate an ALL WHITE anything, it would be considered discrimination...what the heck is really going on here? That doesn't sound exactly fair. I'm not racist by any means, but I think people throw up the race card way to often and that makes people racist. We all know life's not fair, but so many people are getting carried away.

That's what happens when your race spends the majority of recent history stepping on other people's freedom. Are you familiar with the saying "The sins of the father are visited upon the son."? It's basically what's happening to whites now. Your ancestors were assholes and now you're being punished. It's not fair but no one ever said life was.

But yes, I do agree with you about the race card. People use it far too often and, as a minority myself, I'm always pretty pissed when someone says something happened to him because they're some race that isn't white. I generally end up yelling things at my TV like, "NO! You're in jail because you ******* killed your wife! Not because you're black!"

The same thing is happening to males. Could you imagine what would happen if someone made an all male college? I feel horribly bad for white males. I think the current consensus is that they're all spawns of the devil and will grow to become the devil when, in fact, their only crime was being born pale with a penis.

Oh, and dude above me is wrong. According to 2000 census whites only made up 69.1% of the US population and that number steadily declines each year. By 2050 they're supposed to be a plurality (the majority only because there's no minority group that has more people than they do but, if you said whites vs. all combined minorities, they'd have the smaller number)

The only reason why those things came into existence is because of whites' tendency to discriminate in the past. WHites only everything. They did have whites only colleges and grade schools... You need a real history lesson, you have no idea of the discrimination and racism blacks had to suffer. You have no idea what its like, or what is was like to be just as good yet treated like nothing. Blacks weren't allowed to participate in many of white's pageants, or were viewed negatively on television... Blacks were always regarded as ignorant slaves, servants... vagabonds in most white movies. Look at an old Shirley Temple movie, see the tap dancing servant? For the longest time the only black person that had ever won a movie award was that fat lady from Gone With the Wind... Blacks found an alternative to being regaled to lesser roles and created their own. Blacks have their own magazines because most magazines written for the woman of today, even for the teenager today are typically predominantly white. I don't believe in any type of discrimination, but blacks have their own in response to whites'.I'm not racist or a separatist, but I understand why blacks had to make something for themselves, for us, because if we didn't we'd still be out there entertaining the audience with tap dancing...Even now we aren't seen as equals, even now we have to be 10x better than the average white man to get anywhere. Its sad, we are all discriminated against. Reverse discrimination was an answer to the phenomenon of an extremely high population of unemployed blacks, Affirmative Action served its purpose, but now it is no longer a law, at least where I live. I don't think its necessary any longer. I would surely hope not. I would hope that racism in all of its guises would be over and done with. How can we move to a future if we keep bringing up the past?

Black colleges originated when Blacks were not allowed into white colleges. True this no longer exist. But, it continues. Why? I can't honestly answer. But I can guess that scholarships and grants have a lot to do with it. Could be they have a better system for low income? We all know that it is still difficult for the average Black person to get top $ jobs. So having a college to meet their needs in order to get out of the rut the minority has been in for decades is indeed necessary. White people has not had to struggle since they took the land away from the American Indian. There for most white people don't understand what it is like to not be able to attend college or to live in the Ghetto. Most White people have the attitude that people living in the Ghetto because of laziness. This is not true at all. NO ONE likes living there, they simply are not given the opportunity to get themselves out. Times are changing. Changing for the better. It's about time.

I believe you are correct. Larger employers having to hire because they are a women or of race. In an ideal world a company would hire the best person for the job. it shouldnt matter what color he is,religion, whether he is a she. It should be about the best most qualified person. America likes to take a step backward.. they need to get rid of Affirmative Action too.. we are all equal and it is no longer necessary... Even Illegal Aliens have rights here. So isnt that enough... but all these programs make us the best country in the world.

I'd like to be around in about another 20 generations when the world is full of people of a nice golden brown race that speaks Spanglogermaneseish and we don't have to hear about this crap.

But, I imagine we'll have blown this fine planet up by then and it will cease to be a real issue.
Make the most of your time while you're here and try to leave it a better place than when you got here.

I agree with you . I had nothing to do with what happened with slavery, yet I am being punished for something I wouldn't even have participated in if I was around then. I don't know how all of this is allowed to happen, aren't we all supposed to be treated as equals? The race card works for some and that is why they still use it-its sad really. It aggravates me-I really hope that someday ALL of us are treated equally.

Yes we are actually, legally. Its called reverse descrimination for a reason sweetie. I think the question here is when is the tab payed off? And why is it that no one else gets a tab. I mean my irish family came over here as indentured servants when do we get ours? Or how about the indians? If anyone got screwed it was they.

Whites never had to fight for their rights everything was available and open to them hence it would be a waste of time to create services that cater to an all white audience...Blacks as well as other people of colour have been discriminated against to a legislative level therefore they had to escape this by creating institutions to accommodate them.
