Believe me, it is niether as easy, nor as meaningless as people tend to think.
Those who have taken up arts against people's general advice, tell me your story. And those who think that arts stream has no future, explain your point of view.

Its because Arts need no Brain... It needs Talent!!!
People tend to think that because Arts have a low cut-off percentage, its a demeaning branch. Arts do have a gr8 future...arts in all forms...yes!
And everywhere this mentality is the same...what a pity!

Theoretically,It's simply because in some areas of arts as subject it could not come out of the university campus. It hardly ever equips students to deal with practical problems in our day to day life.Practically it's got very little monetary value See,economics even being a member of arts fraternity, has a practical value and many universities provide Sc.degree in economics. When you deal with fundamental problems like"Whether capital punishment should be banned or not?',no amount of Sc,commerece, engineering can answer this. But only arts can.
Arts has a perennial future, where as many other revered streams can dry up some day.
It's unfortunate that all meritorious or should I say, studious students opt for Sc or commerce.Simply because they have saleability in the market.Arts is treated as left over all over the world,do't worry. If are a proper student who has chosen arts as your own passion, even if you were forced to,lage raho. Why should you care what others say about your love?Do't feel guilty, the whole world is after you to make you believe you are inferior. If you submit to the evil's design, you are no where.
Take care and be happy with what you have and not with what people might have granted you.
Have a nice day,everyday.

Gujarat favours Commerce instinctively. It is because of Business tradition.Next choice is Science. Don't bother about what others think. If you are genuinely interested in Arts subjects, join and study well. Distinguish yourself well and great career opportunities will come your way. Good Luck!

you don't really need to care what people think about it. Arts is a good stream. You are the one who would set goals for your career, not the people. For those who think arts has no future, I don't think you need to give any explanations to them. Let the morons be morons.

All the best...

At present maximum parents wants to make their wards as Doctor, Engineer or Charter accountant. So they want that their ward should read Science, Maths, Biology or Commerce (at least).
No one wants to make one's ward as Lawyer, Politician or Social worker. This is why they look down the art stream. But it should not be so. It is totally depends on the individuals and his interest of learning. So don't be discouraged. do whatever you want and do hard labour in the subject of your choice.
