Virginia Cavaliers are 20-8, 11-4 in ACC and have just one game remaining against a lowly Wake Forest team. Obviously the voters place way too much on the name of a school when ranking the teams (i.e. Duke).

As you can see, Virginia is not ranked in the AP poll and they are ranked 25th in the USA Today/Coaches Poll. When I asked the question, it was in regards to the AP poll, which is the most regarded of the two in most eyes.

their schedule outside the ACC is pretty weak, besides beating Arizona and Gonzaga. The other teams that they played are weak. I will admit they beat Duke and Maryland(2x) but they lost to Miami. They need a tougher schedule to be ranked, or they have to beat ALL of the elite ACC teams. They lost to lowly Miami.
...Now they lost to Wake Forest ...so they lost to the 2 worst teams in the ACC ...still think they should be ranked? Well, they got a share of the lead in the ACC title and they'll lose in the first round of the ACC tourn. and the NCAA's ...thats my next prediction

Strangely enough, that may be the best thing for them, because it gives them a chip on their shoulder. They will be a dangerous team come ACC and NCAA tournament time. They have the potential to shock the world and win the ACC tourney, and I think they have a strong chance of making the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAAs and perhaps even go farther.
