I have smoked over 30 years and it is just part of my life but I have not smoked one in 2 days now and I am using the patches and they seem to make me nervous and jittery felling.

You do not have to give up smoking forever.
Just give it up for the next hour.
The next day.
One hour one day at a time.

I smoked for twenty-five years plus.

I did it...so can you

A very brave decision ! You should persist and quit smoking altogether. I used to smoke from the age of 17 to the age of 34, when my father died, apparently because he used to smoke too much - he smoked up to 40 cigarettes per day...
You should find something to replace that cigarette, you hold in your hands most of the time...I know from my experience it's hard, but it's worth trying, your life will have an entirely new and healthier dimension !

I smoked 46 years. I can't tell you the number of times I tried to quit.
I became a Christian 2 years ago. I went to my church and knelled at the alter to ask the Lord to remove the need. the wanting and the craving for cigarettes from my life. I left that church, never missing a cigarette again. I have been smoke free sense.
Good luck.

Aw, just start smoking again and quit trying to help yourself. What's the difference? If you can't make a committment that goes past two days, you're not going to be successful anyway. Light em if you've got em!

when you stop a bad habit, you should replace it with a good habit. in your case, physical activity seems to be what's needed. you don't have to do anything drastic, just go for a walk or learn yoga. get a hobby that occupies your hands and your mind. good luck stopping smoking!

good job on taking ahold of your life. im only 14- but my coach was a HUGE smoking addict- and the way he stops it is jerky chew. i guess he chews it a lot and it keeps his mind off it and keeps his mouth and throat busy... good luck and keep up the good work!!
