2. most money changer have about the same exchange rate.

You can try these places:

1. Chinatown People's Park Complex (1st floor)

2. Far East Plaza (1st and 2nd floor)

As there are more than 1 money exchanger stores there, their rates tends to be quite competitive. Good luck.

Actually, I've found that rates at the small money changers at People's Park Complex at Chinatown very competitive. There are several on the first floor, both inside and outside the building so you can compare.

Generally, the money-changers at Caltex House offer very competitive rates for most currencies.

try those at 2nd floor at Arcade (Raffles Place).. but it will really matter only if you are exchanging large sum of money. and best to exchange from either of monday to wednesday cos near weekends, markets tend to perform poorer hence dragging the exchange rate down..
