Cause of teen pregnancy, I'm not even touching how that one happens! The effects on the teens, it screws them up. The lose their childhood and have to grow up way to fast. Some make it through it ok, others don't. My friend did just fine, she was 16 when her son was born.

The worst effect is probably that a pregnant female will likely have to miss a chunk of school big enough to endanger her graduation. And, statistically, less than 1/3 of pregnant girls who leave high school ever finish.
Also, young pregnancies are difficult on the body. Heck, all pregnancies are, but especially young. It could also result in an unfair social ostracizing.

the causes of teen pregnancy are many...irresponsibility, it can't happen to me, it is my first time, the condom broke, he did not pull out on time...i thought i was sterile...a mistake
the effect is horrible...the girl now has a child which limits her educational and working options, her fun time with her friends, children taking care of children, the financial impact on government subsidies to support teenage mothers and fathers, the drain on the healthcare system because the parents probably are limited by education and good jobs to afford to care for the family properly

13-19 year old becomes pregnant or a 13-19 year old kid gets a girl preg....same thing.
it is a hard thing to go through..because most of the time the grandparents have to care for the child.
