I want a bar for a function, got someone to run it, just need the equipment, yet every company I have contacted say they will do it but run it themselves.

Yellow pages, catering equipment, hiring of. Or get in touch with your town hall who should have a list because you will need a license if you charge for the drinks. Also check prices as sometimes the hire is the same with or without staff.
