Every morning at 8:08, Norton finds the Downloader.Dluca virus on my system and removes it - until the next morning at 8:08 am. I have two firewalls setup so it must be coming from within this system - two other machines on the network are fine. I installed AVG and AVAST and they do not find it; I tried Norton in safe mode; I ran AVG on each of the screen accounts - no virus. A friend says Norton is crap and the virus is probably not there but it does seem to shut down the network when Norton keys on it.

Any ideas???

for a start you must only use one firewall and one anti virus, otherwise all sorts of problems can occur, turn off the system restore and scan in safe mode, when finished turn system restore back on, some viruses hide in the restore folders and reinstall themselves

It may be finding it in the system restore files which no virus scanner can touch the OS won't let them disable system restore that will delete the files when it's finished deleting files re-enable it to disable it open the control panel click on the system icon when the dialogue box appears click on the system restore tab put a tick in the box that reads "turn off system restore on all drives" click apply when the files have been deleted take the tick out and click apply again

might try turning off nortons
and just run avg and avast
and see what happens

I use to get false messages from nortons all the time
then I switched to avg

Go to http://www.mbusbyuk.info/links.html and scroll down the page to free online virus & spyware scans.
Select Panda from the free virus scanners.
When you get to the site, click on Scan My Computer.
When it asks you to select which part of your computer to scan, click on My Computer.
This should fix your problem.
Good Luck.
