Sure, as soon as you can pay for your own place to live, buy your own food/clothes etc. While you live at home, you live by their rules.

That would depend. There are something that are laws. Such as no one under 21 drinking. Sorry I am not going to pay higher state taxes so the 18 year olds can drink.
I couldn't drink at 18 cause it was against the law then too other tax payers then want to pay higher state taxes for me to drink. Time does pay and one does become legal.
If you want to have an all night party make sure your not bothering the neighbors there are noise ordinaces. It doesn't just apply to the 18-21 year olds it apply to all the citizens. Make sure your the one paying for the building. It really isn't fair to the parents who are paying for the place to lose all thier possessions because their child decided to have a party and someone went home drunk. Now not only is the person who threw the party going to get sued for involunteer manslaughter put the parents of the individual will to because it was hosted in their house.

Sure, at 18 you're an adult so yes you should make your own decisions. BUT you must be an adult in all aspects: financially independent (not living with your parents), paying for your own education (not going to collegel on parents money), and living in your own place (not in parents house).

As long as your parents are providing support to you be it in every day living, education, or housing they have a right to put expectations and limitation on how you enjoy those benefits. When you are no longer relying on them for support then you can make your own decisions irregardless of their expectations. Just keep in mind, that your parents are not trying to "cramp your mojo" by placing restrictions or offering opinions - they were 18 once too and know that the road to true adulthood is difficult and they are offering the experiences they have has to help you along.
As Virgil said in the Aneid: "Trust one who has been through it."

No, but if they have already decided to follow a course, they should be allowed to do so. But everyone, even at 30, 40 or 60, need help while making a decision, to consider all the pros and cons, and make a profitable and good decision.

As long as you are self-supporting, you are legally of age to make your own decisions.

If you are still living under your parents roof or they are financially supporting you in any way, then they still have a right to tell you to clean your room, don't stay out late, mow the lawn, etc. If you don't like their rules, then at age 18, you get to find a job and move into your own apartment, pay your own way and then you get to do what you want.

I'm 29, I make my own decisions, but one of the true signs of being an adult is realizing when to ask for help.

That all depends. If you are living under your own roof, self supporting, then yes. If you are living under someone else's roof, the owner of that roof should be the head of that household.

They should first learn how to conjugate a sentence, and ask a question. By the way, what is your question?
