It is part of the Theory of Relativity set as a famed example by Albert Einstein to those curious people, he said just imagine sitting by a burning fire or chatting with a beautiful lady with the same length of time, then he asked, "Which one makes you feel the time is fast? Which one makes you feel the time is slow?" Then he concluded, "That is what relativity means".

I think it's because when we're happy, we don't pay much attention to time because we are just so intent on keeping on doing whatever it is we are doing at the time. When we're in a sad or boring situation, I think we tend to ruminate about our feelings and our lives more, and this tends to really make us think about how much time we spend doing the activities in our life. I'm not sure if you'd agree. Hope this helps,
Eso

When you happy your Adrenalin rushes and you don't seem to concentrate on what is around you so much. When you are bored, it is the complete opposite. You can hear a pin drop and you feel the clock going up a minuet and back two. It is all in your subconscious mind.

Time is not the issue- wanting to escape, and watching the clock, is the issue.
Time becomes not just an irrelevant thought when you're enjoying yourself, it actually becomes something you DON"T want to think about...
because you'd rather be in the moment than fear or mourn the end!

Because when we are enjoying ourselves, we are not concerned with time other that wishing it would slow down. I have the secret for eternal life: Me miserable and as pesimistic as you can, that way each second seems seems like hours, days seem like months and months seem like decades...eternal life! I'd much rather enjoy every single micro second like it's my last.

Our sense of time is within us. When we are unhappy we tend to concentrate on ourselves, within. When we are happy our focus is generally on something or someone else, outside. If we are less aware of something we percieve it as passing quickly.

Time is an illusion- but isn't it more fun to feel happy and then you don't care about time!
