Ahab showed a psychotic single-minded obsession over Moby-Dick...he was obsessed with it. People were afraid of him because he was determined to catch this whale at whatever the cost. He had tried and failed before to beat the whale and his obsession with it had made him quite insane and he's the captain of this ship and these people are working for him and he's going out with the idea that it's the crew or the whale, even including himself...someones not coming back. And he paid the crew to take this chance.

Out of those, chipping in for The Invisible guy because the first e book of the Civil Rights era, and An American Tragedy as a hell of a fantastic study. Moby-Dick is a classic yet i ought to take or leave it compared to the different 2. i have not study Sister Carrie (although i understand I might want to) or The Poisonwood Bible.

He was on a quest to catch the whale. Get the movie with the original cast. That will give you an idea of what, how and why. I think Gregory Peck stared in it.
