I purchased a Logitech quickcam chat but when I try to show it on messenger I get nothing but noise.?

I am using an a8n-sli Deluxe from Asus with an AMD 64 3200+ and windows xp pro sp2. When I go to capture in one of my off line programs the picture is fine, but when I start yahoo messenger all I get is noise. There is not even a pattern to the noise.

Open your webcam.On the screen frame you will see File,click it and click preferences.There click on camera source,make sure your webcam name is showing in there and not the pc system . After that click on calling and sound in preferences.There set the sound assistant to give you a sound test.Above that where it say's microphone make sure your cam is listed there too.Should be good. Alot of good help in the messenger help.
