I have suffered from depression for many years and have been cured of it by prayer. No one can heal your hurts and help you thru your daily life like God. My philosophy for getting thru day to day is "if you cannot put your hands on it and change it then dont worry about it today put it God". This has healed my ulcers and I have not had a bout of depression for 3 years! In todays world there is so much activity it is hard to find time to clean out our heads. I use the shower in the morning before i wake up my kids for school to pray a lil prayer for the day ahead. I hope this will be of some help to you, I would be willing to talk more to you about this also.

First, you must be in a place with complete silence with no distractions, lie or sit down, close your eyes, hands at your sides, legs uncrossed, concentrate on breathing, nothing else, just breathing, slowly inhale through your nose for 4 seconds completely filling your lungs, then slowly exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds, completely emptying your lungs, do this for about 5 minutes which gives you a nice oxygen high. Then, picture in your head a glowing ball of warmth at your feet. It surrounds one of your feet relaxing and warming all the muscles in it. Concentrate on just relaxing the muscles in that foot, letting the warm globe flow around it. Then go to the other foot. then each leg and on up. Remember, only concentrate on relaxing one area of the body at a time, letting the warm globe go where you need it most. Do not cross your arms or legs. You'll find you can feel muscles loosening that you never knew you had. Hope it helps.

I used psychedelic drugs to achieve this, but it's very painful for the mind and even if you think you're strong, it will get you down, but now that all the bad effects are gone, I'm feeling relieved, I'm born again and I'm pretty different, that trip showed me how to see things differently, helped me to find what were my real problems and what I have to do to go over these. I can say that I'm living and feeling far better now. But as I said before it's a real mind torture to get to my point.

I don't know about inner peace but when I need to relax I wait until the kids go to bed then I light some candles, turn off the lights and take a long hot bubble bath with my fave soap.

I used to be plagued by constant bad thoughts of my past experiences. None of them were that bad in reality but my mind would twist them & make them worse than they actually were. I read a book on how to heal emotional scars. It did work for me because I realised that I wasn't going mad. I was able to move on & put the past behind me. Unfortunatly I don't have it anymore so I can't tell you who wrote it. Recently I have read a book called 'Who Moved My Cheese ' by Dr Spencer Johnson & that has changed my life in another way. A way in which I am not afraid to try to do anything. I learned that I have nothing to lose. I think we all need a focus & a challenge in life to keep bad thoughts out of our heads. Send them on their way as if they were bad omens is the key.

Go to: http://www.healthyplace.com/communities/ and find and practice the meditation technique for at least 20 minutes a day, and whenever you feel things becoming too much for you. Start now. It will prove invaluable in times of adverse life events.

I suggest you get a blank notebook and start journaling...before you go to bed, spend a little time writing down what's bugging you.
