we didnt have emo when i was young (In my 20s now). We had goth, punk, grunge, etc.. whats the deal with this mutt breed called emo? And why would you brag about being one??? Shouldnt they call themselves "pseudo depressed losers begging for attention"? I see questions all over saying "im emo, how can I look more emo....whats a good emo hair cut?"

Emo is what happened over last summer.
Something happened to the social ladder, and sevral preps were thrown down the ladder. Looking for support, they found the Goths and Cutters. The Preps inherited some charicteristics, but still have some prep benith them, wich pops up in really weird ways.

They are a mix of different things. Basically they mostly and might wear gothic stuff etc. They are emotional and depressed about life so it leads them to do stuff and to find other things cool and portraying their feelings physically/visually. Im a skater, i got gothic friends who are also emo's. I know those people so that's why i got an understanding of them or what they are doing.

Well, part of it is the "look at me!" that everyone does in their own way. Some people do it with Harleys and tats, some do it with a face full of piercing.
The generation before you thought some of your stuff like goth was stupid, so just realize that as you get older you are becoming less tolerant of other people's aberrations.
