Hi, your browser saves your search phrases not the search engine.
Any ways, you can get rid of these phrase by turning off this feature. For example if you have MS Internet Explorer, you go to tools then Internet Options, then Content, then go to Auto complete and turn it off. I hope you got it.

go to the Tools menu Item, go to Internet Options, Go to the Content Tab, click on Autocomplete button, click on clear forms button.
For extra measure if you want to clear all the items in your address bar, in Internet options on the general tab, click on clear history, delete your cookies and temporary internet files every once in a while for good maintenance

Just go to 'tools' in internet explorer. Then go to 'internet option' and delete cookies and saved files and then clear history. You will have a clean slate to work with from there!
If you want a more secure method of deletion download the Ccleaner application from this link:
http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10315544.html
It will permanently remove unwanted records and files from your system.

go to settings
click on view files
select all, then delete
go back to clear history
go back to tools
go to internet options

then clear slate
And even all that, my friend demonstrated how to access all deleted files. Pretty scary
