We've been together for a year, and both he and myself want them to know so that we can have a more public, open relationship, as I live in a small town... Please don't judge us because of our ages!

just tell them, it will be much worse for the 2 of you if they find out from someone else, trust me on this, my girlfriend and myself had this same problem nearly 3 yrs ago. She was almost 17, me 28, we had to tell them n we did. we still together now n still very much in love. Age is not an issue, its how you feel. Your situation sounds nowhere near as bad as ours so just tell them ok. Let em judge, who cares really so long as you're happy!!!!!!

Honey, I don't want to judge you, but be prepared for your parents to be less than thrilled. Number one...you have decieved them for over a year. They should have known you were interested in this guy. He was 21 and you were I guess 14 when you got together...I am a parent, and if my son was with a girl that many years older than him at that age, I would have hit the roof, and she would have to pray there was no sexual activity or I would have her up on charges. Obviously number two is the age difference...later on six years will not seem like a big deal but at your ages it is a big deal. He is an adult and wants to do adult things or at least he should. You are a teenager and even though women mature faster than men it doesn't mean you are ready for adult responsibilities and adult relationships. You only get to be young once, I think you should enjoy it with people your own age.

Anyway, please talk with your parents right away. Maybe they will see that you two mean something to each other if you are willing to get it out in the open.

In most states, he is committing Statutory Rape and can go to jail for several years and therefore be labeled as a sexual offender for the rest of his life.

In general, 16 is the age of consent. Since you are nearly sixteen that means you are 15. Since you are under 18, your parents can press charges against him until the statute of limitations runs out. For rape I believe it's 10 years.

Your boyfriend is a scumbag. It's not normal for a 22 yr old man to have a relationship with a 15 yr old girl. Just as it's not normal for a 22 yr old woman to have a relationship with a 15 yr old boy. That is why there are laws against it.

I'm not judging you, I'm judging him. A judge will also judge him.

Your boyfreind is a paedofile, it is so easy to influence teenage girls for young men of this age

Why doesnt he have a more mature gf and how long do you think hes gonna stick around after he gets what he wants.

Youll be the one carrying the baby for the next 18 years while he moves on to his next victim.

Thats what your family will say, you may be truly in love and abstaining till married, so tell them your engaged to be married and want to plan a wedding day, this may put their minds at ease, and prove that your BF is a real man not a predator

I think he is way too old for you. There is a huge difference between 16 and 22. The best thing you can do is move on. He doesn't really love you. He is an adult, you are a minor. He could find himself in jail.

it is not only ur azz at stake it is his your parents will not approve and he can be sent to jail if they find out they are your parents and if they dont like the idea they can press charges and you will ruin the rest of his life get over him it is a phase i went through the same thing and i know trust me move on and get out of his life before you ruin it for him. I am not trying to judge you because i was you i am just trying to be honest but if you truly love him you will do what is best for both of you and wait until you turn 18

My daughter just turned 17 2 weeks ago.She has been dating a 21 yr. old guy for over a yr.I knew about him and didn't have a problem with it considering they told me he was 18.By the time I found out he was 20 it was too late. She was allready pregnant and planning on getting married.22 yr.old men should not be messing with 15 yr. old girls. If I would've known my daughter's b/f was that old believe me she wouldn't be in the situation she's in now. You're gonna do what you set you're mind to do,Because you're a child. But,he is an adult and can be put in jail for molestation.Very stupid on his part to mess with you.He should be ashamed.

Hey Alis, Its good that you dont want to be judged with your age... but then, I feel you have taken a good decision in wanting to let your parents know and want to have an open relationship... Please dont have a second thought and go ahead... I believe when you dare to say about your relationship, your parents would definitely dont feel bad and accept your decision.. Cheers..!!!

"Mom, Dad, I've been seeing a boy that's too old for me. But don't worry, I've wised up and I'm breaking it off with him."

Seriously - you might be okay with it, but what does a 22 year old want with a 16 year old? He should be looking for something a little more his speed.
