For 3 months I worked as a temp in a special needs workplace. I didn't have anything to do with the special needs people, I just worked along side them. Some of them were prone to violence, and one time I saw a client get down on the floor and bite one of my co-workers! The pay was minimum wage and the environment I was working in was terrible. To top it off, the work I was doing was stupid too....I folded tissue paper all day long! No kidding, they gave you stacks of 500 sheets of tissue paper, anywheres from 3-5 different colors, and you had to separate EACH piece, line it up on a step board, and fold each color together so it would fit inside a little plastic bag. That was it, that's all I did ALL DAY LONG!! I was there for 3 mos. before they fired me for not meeting quota.....definitely the worst job ever!

As an apprentice in a company making TV and radio products,I and my colleagues were moved around to different jobs under the disguise of training. Most of the time they were jobs that were short of labour or in a real hurry for completion. The very worst was soldering little wire tags to the end of an electrical component(Capacitor). The component was 1 inch long and an eighth of an inch in diameter. On my left was a bin about 4 feet deep full of them and on my right was an empty bin the same size. After working at this for 8 hours the finished work did not cover the bottom of the bin. At that rate the other bin would not be empty for about 2 weeks. I hated it so much that for the first time and the last time in my life I pretended to faint and was taken to the first aid dept. With a little help from me they deduced that the cause was the solder fumes and I was ordered off that job. Also to the relief of my colleague apprentices they to were not allowed to do that work any more.

Without a doubt, the worst job I ever had was as a costumed character at a theme park. The costumes was huge, heavy and incredibly smelly inside. I got kicked and hit constantly by little brats. The heat was unbelievable and you couldn't even get out of your costume on a break, just take the head off. I could not see below chin level and tripped over things and fell down at least once a day - all for minimum wage!

I worked for a short while as a temporary nannie for a family with 3 children. They were lovely kids and the parents were ok, out working all day, but the house,.......Aaargh it was FILTHY!. When you walked through the kitchen your feet stuck to the floor, I didn't use any of the cups as they were all cracked or dirty even though they had been washed. The parents and kids bedrooms had dirty clothes piled about 5ft in the corner (no, I'm not exaggerating). I washed and ironed the kids clothes but didn't touch anything else. I didn't like to sit on any of the armchairs or sofa as they were black with filth and sticky....yeugh..it was all disgusting. I was there a week and couldn't cope. I was not there to clean nor would I have been paid for it so I left. It still makes me cringe when I think about it.

Recycling operative. Filthiest job ever.

English people aren't keen on putting only CLEAN recyclables in the recycle bin.

Summer was awful, rubbish would sit in a warehouse for 3weeks, festering away - everything from food leftovers, rotten bacon and dead cats. The stink was appalling.

Did you friend leave that job because he felt like he was getting shafted all day?

If he needs work, my local tailor is looking for somebody to work in the warehouse as a shirt lifter.

I used to work at the pickle factory. I would come home smelling like a pickle almost every night. With bruised also after having pickle fights. And the stuff that I saw coming down the conveyor belt was just disgusting. I used to love pickles, now they make me want to hurl.

Working with salmon, cleaning, gutting, slicing, dicing, using a strange spoon shaped device to reclaim "head" meat, hiding all the old yellow stock when the health inspectors came and then taking it all out again when they had gone...... those were not the days.

Never touched salmon again since, anyone who eats salmon pate the stories I could tell you.....

No kidding, I was a tennis ball bouncer. Use to have to stand and bounce the tennis balls to make sure they reached a certain height!

I lasted more than most in the job - 4 days!
