Fear of everything being done for nought -- fear of failure -- makes a lot of people just not try whatever it is that needs doing until they are forced to do so by a deadline. This being so, I'd say one thing that would help us not procrastinate is get over the idea that everything we do has to be perfect. What if we fail? Make it better next time. Don't be so hard on ourselves. Take a fair shot at it, don't worry, and move on.

One. Disconnect from the Internet. This is super distracting.
*Two. Go into a room without t.v. or books. You may be forced to go into your laundry room)
*Three. Just start. If you have three days to do a project assume you really only have 1. IT MUST be done tonight.
*Note these ones are just fo homework. These next ones are for other things.
If it is chores then you need to pretend you have 15 min. to finish them. Set a timer. If you make it under the time limit award yourself 15 min. t.v. time once you finish everything. Keep track so then you can go an a t.v. spree! Good Luck.

While you're in the process of procrastinating you just seriously think and decide "I'm getting off my butt today" and actually DO get up and do the things your procrastinating on.
It's actually quite simple when you put your mind to it.

Generally it's only the fear of devastating failure and exposure as lazy good for nothing layabout that leads the true procrastinator to do something.
That or the fear of a good old fashioned whupping from mama.
