He was good till my husbands famaily got to involved my son hates them all tells them all to go away and leave him and his baby brother to mum.

You need to find out what the source of the hatred is for your son and find a way to deal with it quickly. Perhaps examine how you behave around them as well, sometimes children will copy or mimic behavior they see in their elders and the elders don't even realize it or what they are saying or doing. Remember, just because you can't see little ears, doesn't mean that they might not be around!

Be firm with him. Lay down the law and say that this IS the new family and it is not going to change so he had better get used to it. I'm sure it is hard for him and you should be there for him to talk to and help him to verbalise how he is feeling about things but if you let him get away with bad behaviour because you feel guilty about the upheavel then he will always be out to get his own way. It might sound harsh, but he has to get used to it.

If you're bashing them in front of him like you for no reason should do.He may not like them because you don't.If this is not the case then it's obvious they're doing things to him,or saying things to him they shouldn't be.You should talk to you're child and find out what's going on.Without putting words into his mouth.Be carefull about how you ask him questions.If you don't get any results then talk to Children's service to get professional help.If they're doing or saying things they shouldn't.It will be discovered then you should do something about it.

I can answer this question cause i used to be like that my mom dumped my dad and started dating a new guy i hated the fact that my mom had a new man in her life and i felt like he was trying to replace my dad and my family i think the best way my mom resolved this was sat me down and had a talk with me and showed me how much happier and better her life was of course i wasnt 5 when she had the talk with me but i think it could help a bit just try it it couldnt hurt. good luck!

have you maybe tried to find the reason he hates them? maybe he has plausible cause?
I'd try and talk to your son alone about exactly why he hates them.
