I am reading more and more every day about elderly people - in their 80's and 90's getting murdered or badly beaten up in their homes, maybe for the sake of a few pounds. What the hell is wrong with the people who do that? Many of those pensioners faught in wars so we can have the privileged lives we have today, and worked hard all their lives, paying taxes and living honestly. Is this how we repay them? It makes me sick. Do these thugs have no conscience? Do they not have grandparents or elderly relatives. Am I the only person who is soooo angry that these little bastrads are getting away with MURDER ?!

No your not, It makes me sick to hear a tragic story of an elderly like that....but you know what we can do? It is to advocate for harsher penalties on those that commit crimes against people that are indefensless such as children and elderly.... write to your congress and let them know how you feel. Get involved with the community to start doing something about this, im sure enough people will support you to make a change at least n your community---it's a start.

You are completely right! Often elderly people are targeted because they are sometimes helpless and unlikely to put up a fight. Thugs who target them most of the time make a clean break with their stolen goods without a problem because the elderly people are to weak to do anything. I think they are absolute cowards and disrespectful in every sense of the word!

In the current culture of, have what you want and have it now, people expect to given exactly what they want. Whether that be money for drugs or getting kicks from violence.
The easiest thing to do it steal from the most vulnerable people in our society. This is completely unacceptable and the law and punishments for such behaviour should very severe, not just 20 hours community service as is often handed out to these cowards.
This only gives the impression that they are beyond and real punishment, bring back chain gangs and publicly humiliate these people.

I think the answer if fairly obvious - pensioners are slower and less likely and less able to resist.
The roots of the problem lay in the last fifty years of socialism. Ending of the death penalty and the subsidy given to the unemployed for the production of more wasteful eaters has created an under class whose numbers have been swelled by an influx of aliens whose kill and rob culture is virtually unchecked.

Because they are cowards, and pick on them because they believe they are weak, and yes your right they are getting away with murder, you might be intrested to know that these scum bags would never admit to hurting an elderly person in front of their mates, when locked up in prison, they always turn round and say that they would beet someone up for doing it?, as i said cowards

The people that do these things are subnormal and inadequate.
They should be given treatment in a prison environment, in order that we understand what is wrong with their minds. In this way we might find a medication to treat these sad, weak minded individuals. We seem to be breeding a society of these cowardly sad people who blame others and society for the way they behave. I feel very sorry for this generation. There is no argument in favour of this despicable cruel mindless violence.

I don't doubt you believe what you read to be true. Thugs do like to discriminate. They pick on the weak because they fear a man or women who might fight back. Some day I'd like to read in the paper about a thug mugging a pimp. Highly unlikely.
