Drivers at petrol stations, don't you realise the hose can stretch over a car? It annoys me, queing to get into a petrol station because some drivers will only go to a pump that's on the side of the car where their petrol cap is. Yet there are some pumps being unused but oh no, they'll just wait incessantly and block the entrance waiting for a suitable pump to become available!

I waited 15 mins this morning, 90% of drivers wouldn't go to a free pump because their petrol cap wasn't on that side. I ended up jumping the queue, filled up, easily pulling the hose and nossle around the other side of my car and got away whilst others were still waiting. (Of course, those drivers who were waiting looked at me like I was scum!)

Is it just me?!? Anyone else get this frustrated?! If you're one of the 'guilty drivers' can someone explain why you only use a petrol pump that's on the same side as your petrol cap?

Totally agree with you, people are just so lazy today and will not walk round their car or stretch over with the petrol hose, why on earth they sit in the queue for ages waiting is beyond me.

Maybe I am a little guilty then. I did know that but I'd forgotten. Also I wouldn't want to scratch my car if I could help it with the hose. Added to which I get in a tangle even with the tyre air hose when going around the other side of car.

Anyway I don't get my petrol during the day at busy times. I wait till night time when its colder and quieter. You get more petrol in your car per £ when you fill up at night. During the day the earth gets a few degrees warmer and the petrol expands.

That annoys me and also in the U.S. most gas stations now have a store on the premises. It drives me nuts when someone fills up their tank and then leaves their vehicle at the pump and runs in to buy something instead of moving and letting the next person use the pump.

Disagree totally. I have quite a big car this time and the hose doesn't stretch that far...
Also, I think society is getting a little too impatient and a bit tetchy. It doesn't hurt to wait for a moment. You should set of leaving plenty of time for everything you want to do...

Totally agree. This frustrates me too. I think it is poeple that can't really drive properly and don't think they could get close enough to be able to pull the hose far enough.

i guess this is more evidence that we have become a dumbed down society.

I don't think that they do it deliberately. They just haven't figured it out.
