Over 3000 US soldiers in Iraq lives have been TAKEN NOT LOST. Was the taking of their life a waste or a sacrifice?
Senators Barack Obama and John McCain used the word ‘wasted’ and are being persecuted by those that make it apparent to me that they have NO UNDERSTANDING of the word and thereby disagree with their use of it.
Please use the common sense given to you by God Almighty and take out your dictionary(ies) and thesaurus(i); look up the definition of these two words, waste and sacrifice.
Don’t ASSUME that you know the definition.
Also ASK HIM, GOD ALMIGHTY, TO BLESS YOU WITH UNDERSTANDING THEN give a response.

Many soldiers do not want to 'give' their life because they do not believe the pack of lies that are fed to them by the powers that be in this country.
Wars are not fought for rights or ideals; wars are fought for MATERIAL.
Many that are in Iraq are not there because they want to be, they are there because they were ORDERED to be.
It is those soldiers that if and or when they die there did not 'give' their life; their life wasTAKEN from them for the material that the powers that be are in want of.

That's a hard one but with this war started based on the lies of the president, with no other motive then for his own personal gain, I have got to say they were wasted, but not in a sense that the didn't sacrifice their lives, because they did. The trouble with this whole war has been the reasons to be there in the first place as they were not clearly defined.

I do not agree with war in any way, however I do respect the men and women who choose to serve in the forces, so I would not be comfortable saying the dead were wasted or sacrificed. Soldiers aside, the governments who ordered the troops there,(US and others), sacrificed not only the lives of these soldiers, but also the reputation of the US, safety and security for all free nations of the world, and wasted billions of dollars that would of been better spent fixing the problems of the world. The Iraq war is unjustified, based on lies, corrupt leaders, and the only ones who will benefit are the military industrial complex, and those who have shares in oil companies. Of course none of this matters, as our dependence on oil is going to make the Earth unihabitable for humans.

We have an all VOLUNTEER military. Regardless of the conflict our bravest VOLUNTEERED they know the risk and the sacrifice, to think that any of there lives were "wasted" is ludicrous every soldier that died went down with HONOR! The Iraq war I believe was initiated at the wrong time, but the cause was just. Even though they did not have the WMD's like we were told, we removed a brutal dictator who was responsible for the genocide of the Kurds and broke sanctions 14 times. Can you tell me how that's a bad thing? No American soldier in any conflict regardless of viewpoint, who dies will never be a WASTE in my book!

The president made stressful options. it particularly is rather revealing to verify people who supported him and suggested an analogous issues on Iraq, have turn-flopped. They now disavow the conflict, and prefer to surrender the combat, and make the soldier's sacrifices a waste.

Neither waste nor sacrifice.
A volunteer army GIVES their lives when signing the dotted line for the duty given to them.
Besides, the good Lord giveth and the good Lord taketh away. God knows who is going to live and die in combat, in fact, like was said to Pilate, "You would not have power over me if it were not given you by my Father."
The fact that our brave soldiers give of their lives is why we should always honor them in our hearts and memories.

If someone or something is improperly used in such a way that it ceases to exist, wouldn't that be a waste? If some agenda doesn't succeed it's been a waste of time...

Sacrifice. If a soldier dies in any combat it's a sacrifice.

Agruing or reading something into the words said as to is that what someone really meant when the simplest solution is to ask if that is what they really meant is a WASTE.

Not one single, solitary American life need have ended in Iraq, regardless of whatever euphemism you use to describe those needless deaths.

Iraq had no more to do with the crimes of 9/11 than did Canada, Bulgaria, or any other country, with the exceptions of Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. There was no need whatsoever to invade Iraq. It wasn't done to "defend our freedom" or to punish the guilty for 9/11, or even to fight the "war on terrorism".

A tiny cabal of neo-conmen, the majority of who were zionists, cooked up the invasion of Iraq in the 1990s for the purposes of securing "cheap" oil and for the benefit of israel.

I don't know what your bible tells you, but as far as I'm concerned, neither of those senseless reasons are worth the killing and maiming of thousands of Americans, as well as tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis.

That's the conclusion my God-given common sense arrives at.
