The effect of rising doctor malpractice insurance on the nursing profession is neither subtle or undamaging to the longterm stability of the art, science and profession of nursing. Strain passed on from legal liabilities are added unfairly to the burdens of a nursing staff, and doctors do not bear lion's share of the added responsibility to insure proper care and medication, but rather these burdens are passed down to nurses.
