it is not , in fact now you have 3 CPUs to send and receive data from internet, so all of your machine may be able to download 3 kb/s

It's all about the upload and download speed that the ISP cuts u off at. For instance if your connection is cut off at 3kbps Upload Speed and 3kbps Download Speed, then it would split everything up evenly as u said. If all the comps are trying to open a website at the SAME time then each comp would be loading at 1kbps. The ISP purposely cuts off our connection speeds so that we get what we pay for. A good way to test this is to start downloading a ton of things. Once you start downloading around 4-5 things you have reached your max downloading capacity per second and it starts dividing the speeds of all 4 downloads by network speed: like if one thing was downloading at 50kbps originally and the other thing was downloading at 100kpbs originally and all of a sudden you had some sort of haul on ur internet and it slowed down 50% the downloa speeds (and upload speeds) would cut off by 50% of their value. The 50kbps would turn into 25kbps and the 100kbps would turn into 50kbps.
Hard to explain but hope you udnerstood something.

Yes the answer relates to bandwidth, you only get a certain amount of bandwidth from your telephone line, therefore the bandwidth will be divided by 3 users i 3 terminals are online, at TAFE college we used to have massive delays on the days the computers were all being used, do an experiment, download a file while only one pc is using the connection then downlaod the same file with all three computers downloading at the same time and time it

It's bursty, if all three of your computers were trying to download at the same time, then it's the same as if your one computer was trying to download 3 files, 1/3 of the speed, but in real world situations, most of the computers aren't downloading all the time, so in a real world application, you wouldn't see much degradation in speed on the 3 machine, below the full bandwidth.

Varies on what each computer is doing. If you are all playing the same game at the same time then yes you are correct. If one is hard wired and the other two are wireless then the wireless ones will always be slower because of the wireless transfer rate.

Depends on what each PC is doing. The connection gets split between the 3 PC's, but unless the 2 other PC's are all sending and receiving data, the connection speed should go fully to your own PC.
