It may happen because you then no more connected to Internet. So first check if you are connected or not. If not connected then right click on the wireless antenna icon on the system tray (corner of the right side of screen). You will find a number of option. Click repair to let computer try to fix it. If still the problem appears then click on "view Available Wireless Network". Check whether there are multiple connection there. Remove the other network keeping yours....... click "Change the order of preferred network"...click on "wireless network tab"......there you will find a box where shows our available networks. Select which you want to remove and then click remove. It is done.

Try this:

Open your wireless connections (right click on the icon and select view available wireless networks).
Then in the left of the dialog of networks select "change to advanced configuration" (the last option)

Then in the new dialog choose the wireless networks tab (2nd) and your wireless network , and click on properties. In the new dialog choose "connection" tab (3th) and check automatic connection : connect when the network is available.

Let's see if it works...

check your mail program....it may be setup to disconnect after send/receive....also check your connection settings.....somewhere along the lines you may have it set to disconnect when no longer needed or if connected to a router it may have the "keep alive" settings set to a specific time rather than zero (stay connected)
