I was wondering if there is anyone on this planet that has become so jaded by poeple in general, that you really enjoy just being by yourself. I've noticed that most of the times, I try so hard to be friends with people, and yet, they never cease to fail me or let me down. I've come to the conclusion that the best way to be is "by yourself". Any feedback on this?

.I know exactly what you mean ,I get tired of making friends with people who after a few weeks, all they want is something from you,its want want want ,they don't really want to be friends. its nearly always a case of what they can I get for nothing.I would like to live on an island with no noise and no one saying ,me-me-me-me.(but i must have my computer and yahoo answers).I have a saying here in Spain.'You can rely on two things people letting you down and noise'. To be honest I agree with you entirely.

My company offered me to work from home instead of going to the office everyday and to my surprise I love it! I thought I would miss the interfacing with colleagues, people coming in and out etc. but I really like it at home. I fix my own schedule, I arrange my work, no office politics, no rush hour in the morning or evening, no spending money on new wardrobe, make-up and so on. I am very comfortable working at home and the salary keeps coming in. It's peaceful and free from stress. If I want to see people I go to the gym at noon, meet with friends in the evening, and have a husband who comes home every night. Not a bad deal I tell you.

I dont know if it is because Im jaded but I love being by myself. I am a hermit at heart and if not for my wonderful wife I daresay I could go the rest of my life with nothing but the most superficial contact with others.

i tend to enjoy being by myself more often than not. its because some people are so phony and its easier just not to deal with them. it seems like everybody wants something. i've come to accept that no matter how i try i'm not a people person. i wish sometimes that i was one of those that people seem to gravitate to but then i'd probably go crazy.

I like to be alone also, i would rather spend time with myself because i know how to entertain myself by reading, writting, and learning. I was an only child growning up so i'm used to it.
