be more specific when asking questions, for a starter.
what is your vision? what is your mission?
asking yourself these things will start you on the right direction.
it also depends on which level of managment you are.. front line managment can do things like putting ads in the paper or putting out clearance items. top managers can do more extensive research... ie. demographics, location, product reviews.
