the life span of women is usually longer than that of men.

Women complain about ailments and go to the doctor for issues 9 times greater than men. This is depression, aches and pains, colds, etc. Men don't go to the doctor.
Women have (on average) a longer life span.
Because women are willing to emote, talk, and complain, the term used is "they get sick" more often.
Men don't talk, emote, or complain. They bottle it up, so out of the blue the man will have a heart attack and die. thus "men die"

Women have a higher morbidity rate, i.e. they live longer but get sick more often. Men have a higher mortality rate, i.e. they don't get sick as much but die younger.

Any insurance sales man can tell you that.
