Data Sources configured in the User DSN tab are only available to the user login that created them. Data Sources in the System DSN tab are available to any user that logs in to the system. You can think of the tabs User DSN = one user data source and System DSN = all user data source.

A user DSN is seen only by the user who created it. A system DSN will/can be used by all users who log into that client.

For ur application System DSN is required.
