Please don't get the wrong idea....I am pro-Indian. The basis for my question is that the term "Indian Giver" once referred to that government's practice of giving land to the Indians and then taking it away. Now most people think it means that Indians give things and then take them away. Given this twist in meaning, I'm just wondering how many Yahooers consider the term to be racist.

I don't think it's racist. Because it's not referring to a people being untrustworthy but a government. To say someone is an Indian giver is like saying they are like the U.S government because they give something and then take it back, being unable to do what it has said. Talking about a government is not racist, esp. when the statement is true. If you're offended by the truth, the problem is with you, speaking generally.

Its racist, about white people. Who says that anymore? I haven't heard that since third grade... like twenty years ago.
