I would say that it is being run by economics, which is a sad thing.
Sex, drugs, and violence are symptoms of a bigger/big problem. They are not an end by themselves.

not in my world honey, its just all about money and spreading the wealth. i was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse, and i don't want people to think i'm like everyone else, so i'm wearing a garage door opener!
