My cousin once told me that, when getting married, that the bride should make sure that her groom loves her more, then she loves him. The reason would be so that she would avoid being taken advantage of emotionally.

Each person loves in a different manner. What is the measure of their feelings, only they know for sure.

It is not a matter of who loves who more, it is a matter of how openly the display is. You can love someone intensely and yet only show a little of that emotion outwardly and yet some people will love someone to the extreme for a week and then realise they aren't really in love??

Don't get too caught up in this and trust your own feelings, generally you will know if it is real love with both of you even without a reciprocally outward show of emotion.

I think it's human nature for one person to love the other more than the other loves him/her. I know I love my wife more than she loves me. I think she loves me but she wouldn't go to the lengths that I've gone to for her.

I think what it all boils down to is whether or not there is a huge divide between how much he loves her compared to how much she loves him. If it's a gigantic divide, that's kind of a danger signal for the relationship. There will be tough times in every relationship and if the divide is huge, the relationship may not be able to survive long term.

I wouldn't say DON'T marry the guy but do some major soul searching before she does say "I do".

what a lot of rubbish, she is doing to her prospective groom to be the one thing she doesnt want done to her! total hypocrite. Marriage should be a partnership 50/50, she sounds immature and selfish, sorry but she does

I don't agree. If you love & respect yourself nobody will be able to take advantage of you emotionally. If somebody loves & respects you they will not even try & take advantage of you in anyway.
