Just remember to retain a good lawyer so when they decide to pick you out and make you an example you'll keep your damages down.
Napster was the PTP system that got the music biz all PO'd. They made new laws....anything that claims to be let you download songs for free is illegal, unless it's one that is giving away song of groups you've never heard of to get their name out. Any popular songs your trying to find will be illegal.
As the commercials go, "Do you go into walmart and shoplift CD's?" If you do then you won't have to feel guilty about doing it.

If you are trying to download music illegally, you can always use bit torrent, and the variety of torrent sites out there to help you in your pirating adventures.

However, if you just want to listen to some chill-@** music while you're online, I'd recommend trying out pandora.

at

http://www.pandora.com

It is free internet radio, nothing to download, the worst part is that you might eventually have to create an account.

I love it though, I can type in a song I like, and it's instantly playing songs similar to the one I wanted to hear, and sometimes I'll get to hear that song on that station.

If you go the torrent route, my only suggestion is to use Azureus which can be found at

http://azureus.sourceforge.net

It's my favorite bit torrent client to date. You cannot just download the torrent file, you have to have a client to open the torrent file, to start downloading the actual files

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Try torrents. They are fast and clean and easy to use. A good client is Azureus (google it) which is part of sourceforce. Then to find the torrents you can go to www.isohunt.com and www.torrentreactor.com which are both excellent and relaible. Also, you can download aps from the same site.
