I'm thinking about getting final fantasy XII, however is it worth getting if I only really liked final fantasy VII and not the others ( Number 7 was awesome?)

For the first couple of hours Final Fantasy XII will bore you like hell and you'll be extremely confused with the battle system. I almost stop playing. However, once you get into it (which I guarantee you will) you'll fall in love with it. It is one of the most highest rated final fantasy games and it's coming close to one of the best games ever. Buy it!

That you'll have to ask yourself, you like Final Fantasy VII doesn't mean you'll like Final Fantasy XII...

The fact that, FF XII has a totally redefined battle system, and with the help of Gambit battle system, you won't be having too much hard time killing bosses.
You can set all your actions at Gambit according to the situation before you enter a battle, oh, now in FF XII, you don't enter a battle without you knowing, now the monsters are right at your sight so you can choose to avoid it or kill it. Unlike FF VII where you enter the battle surprisingly and demanding your every actions in the battle.

Other than that, is pretty much a FF game you would expect, great graphics, surprises, awesome Full Motion Video (FMV), tons of unlockable and sidequests.

It is a really good game and does not have a sappy love story you have to play through. Most reviews I have seen have give this a very high rating just like Final Fantasy 7. Go rent it and then you will see how good it is and you will want to the buy it.

well, its worth playing because the game's story is interesting and there are many boses to fight in the game. i spend about 2 whole months to finish the game. Somehow, you need to refer to some guide from the internet in order to finish the game because the game's walkthrough is quite confusing. Maybe you will like the game too when you buy it.
