i think you may be thinking about a dream catcher. I t is a native Indian thing, rather pretty design, that supposedly catches the bad dreams, never worked for me.

My mom had a superstition that if you have bad dreams sleep with a butterknife under your pillow, it is supposed to cut your dreams.... seemed to work for me when i was about 4 or 5.

Yes and it was green 4 foot tall with 3 eyes 4 nipples and a cute face.

No, I do have a dream catcher though, that keeps the good ones and deflects the bad ones.

Dream Catcher..........It's this round thing made by the indians. It is said to do that. I'm not so sure, I have never tried it. I like my dreams.
