A very good question. I just don't know. Many of the countries appear reasonably wealthy but there is plenty at the top and poverty underneath. We do give them support and we do try and give along the lines of giving them the bits to help them make wealth themselves but the leadership is often cripplingly corrupt and they just don't make headway. Also who are the wealthy in the World? A person in UK on a basic old persons government pension is in the top 5% richest in the World but he doesn't feel able to give much as in our life style there is nothing over. The very rich give a lot because they feel they should and because they have some spare even with their enhanced lives. I am reasonably well off because I have striven and worked hard and haven't spent much as a consequence of being hungry when I was a child and if we give too much we may take away the urge to earn for hunger was the only thing that made me work hard.

Aid to corrupt regimes goes straight to the Swiss bank a/c of government officials, from the very top down wards.
Once I flew to one of the poorest countries in Africa and the only person in first class was one of their young government officials.

I don't think the poor countries should receive money but maybe guidance from a wealthier country. Some countries don't want anyone to help them. Some countries are already to involved with other countries.

Why? The corrupt bureaucracy is going to take the money. We won't be helping the poor.

I think they already do, but their corrupt governments stop the money from going where it is needed.
