If your speaking of this category you posted your Q in, and look to the left of the list of posts you'll see sub categories.
In a general sense Home and Garden is similar to any other category and Yahoo Q & A, in that it's a place/forum to visit with questions, andswer questions, gain info, learn, teach, be entertained.
Most posts regard issues of "I need Help" with something pertaining to ones home or gardens/lawns exteriors of a house, and those others who visit any category do so to try to help answer those questions.
Seems pretty simple to me.

home is your house or any orphange which will give shelter to old and disable children..
garden means which has full of plants and flowers.
